Have you ever wondered about the story behind The Nest’s colourful craft stalls?
For many years, the craft stalls played an important role in supporting The Nest Community, helping to fund programs and daily operations. In the early days of The Nest Haberdashery, customers would often purchase reclaimed materials and return days later with handmade creations, proudly saying, “This is for the stall.”
While the stalls are no longer essential to funding The Nest’s operations, the tradition continues for a different — and equally meaningful — reason. The Craft Stall program offers volunteers a way to contribute that is less physically demanding than other programs, creating opportunities for experienced volunteers to stay connected, feel valued, and participate from home.
Today, the Craft Stall program celebrates the spirit of handmade giving and honours a long-standing community tradition. It is lovingly led by a talented group of experienced crafters known as the Red Robins.
