Mural @ The Sheds art competition shortlist announced! We're excited to announce the four shortlisted artists today whose designs go out to the public to decide which artwork will transform our corrugated iron wall on Sheds 3.
We’d like to congratulate the following artists, in no particular order, on being selected:
Rosie Gordon
Dan K
Sam Bradley
Patrick Indo
The wall, located in the Laneway, will become a feature of our industrial urban precinct that is home to restaurant My Oh My, The Coffee Hut and Hip Hops Brewers, who will open later this year.
Dr Jennifer Fisher, Director, Wattle Run said it was such a tough decision as we had so many wonderful entries submitted from some very talented local artists.
“These four artworks were picked based on their aesthetics, how well they would translate onto corrugated iron and the artists ability to transform the wall in to their masterpiece.
“Our fantastic judging panel, including talented Adelaide Artist Leah Grant, Councillor Cath Tonks and Dylan Turner from Wattyl, all helped to pick the four shortlisted mural pieces that will go out for public vote today until Sunday 30 October.
“We really wanted to use this competition to engage with the locals giving them a say in what the precinct would look like,” she said.
Dr Fisher urged everyone to get voting for their favourite mural via the online voting poll on The Sheds website.
“We will announce the winner on Monday 31 October after the voting is closed,” Dr Fisher said.
“The shortlisted pieces are definitely going to make a statement at The Sheds and North Brisbane, and we’re excited for one of these pieces to make the area pop!” Dr Fisher said.
Online voting is now open at www.theshedatbrendale.com/votenow
